Santa Ynez Valley
Situated just two hours north of Los Angeles, four hours from the Silicon Valley, and only 30 minutes from Santa Barbara lies the Santa Ynez Valley. On arrival, prepare to be enveloped in a landscape of vineyards, horse ranches, farms and schoolhouses. Travel back in time to where simple pleasures, open spaces, grassy fields, bright orange poppies and warm sunny days are found.
Over the last decade, the Valley has become one of the best-kept secrets of the celebrity crowd. Those in the Silicon Valley and the Bay Area have also found it to be a worthwhile alternative to Napa. The geography is more airy and open, and combined with a coastal influence, it offers a buyer far better land value than the Napa Valley. All those who are fortunate enough to live in Santa Ynez closely guard its quiet serenity.
Within this very special valley is the Happy Canyon AVA, (American Viticultural Area) which is known for producing critically acclaimed Rhone and Bordeaux varietal grapes as well as its ability to grow fine olives. Happy Canyon is home to large vineyard estates now owned by a select few who were savvy enough to discover this land’s potential for producing world class wines set in a landscape of incredible beauty.
The medical care system is part of the larger Cottage Hospital Network, one of the finest in the country, and several of the early-educational school facilities are ranked in the top of California.
The area is also known for a variety of equine disciplines combined with one of the top veterinary care facilities in the nation; it makes the Valley one of the last bastions for those longing to pursue their love of the equine world. Proximity to hiking trails, cycling routes, landscaped golf courses, farm-to-table eateries, and bespoke shopping make for a perfectly well balanced living environment.
